Written as an homage to his feline childhood companion, Tiger, Blue Eyes White Tiger was one of the first pieces Justin wrote for a small jazz ensemble. This performance is from his Moderation concert, a requirement for his music degree, at Bard College on April 11, 2016.
Written in the midst of winter, when the snow couldn’t seem to make up its mind on whether it wanted to stay or go, Winterspring was blessed with a demo recording as part of Erica Lindsay’s Chamber Jazz Workshop class in the spring of 2019.
A through composed piece dedicated to Justin’s cat, Pippen (after the hobbit from the Lord of the Rings). Pippen, especially in his younger years, is and was a spastic ball of energy.
Justin writes and performs solo piano compositions as part of the programming at venues such as Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA.
In addition to his own compositions, Justin has experience performing both classical and jazz in a solo setting, and is available for functions including weddings and funerals.
